yangon 01

Though Yangon is no longer the capital city of Myanmar, it is still the cosmopolitan city of rich culture and commerce, with majestic colonial architecture and great natural lakes. Yangon offers a whole range of sights and experiences. There are hundreds of Buddhist pagodas, including the unique and glittering Shwedagon pagoda – as well as Hindu temples, mosques and churches.
Yangon hosts a wide choice of restaurants. Options include elegant continental cuisine, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai and other Asian dishes; with many more international cuisine.
Watching sunset over Yangon in the evening breeze and nights out at Chinatown are memorable.

Bago, Twante,Thanlyn Kyauktan and Pyay, situated on the outskirts of Yangon, are great places to explore. Teak forests and elephant camps are found here. Akauk Taung Mountain stands on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river which is to the north of Pyay in Bago Region. It takes 15 minutes by boat to sail along the Ayeyarwaddy river to Akauk Taung.
